The songs that you love, performed by the songwriters. Gary Burr and Georgia Middleman are award winning singer-songwriters who will bring their music, their stories and their irrepressible good humor from Nashville to Norfolk on Friday, April 24 at 8 p.m. The Infinity Hall show will feature intimate acoustic performances of the pair’s chart-topping songs, including many of the sixteen #1 hits shared between them. Husband and wife will each perform their biggest hits, supported by instrumentals and harmony vocals from the other.  The songs will be introduced with the little known, behind-the-scenes stories that few have ever heard.  It’s a short and often hilarious course in the adventures of songwriting and perils of the music industry. It’s an evening of wonderful music shared among friends, and a unique opportunity to hear some of the industry’s best known songs performed and interpreted by the songwriters themselves. The Infinity Hall show is also a homecoming.

Gary Burr was born and raised in Meriden, CT. He wrote his first major hit, “Love’s Been a Little Bit Hard on Me” (Juice Newton), while still a resident of the Nutmeg state. While his songwriting career required a move to Nashville, Gary remains attached to his hometown and was recently inducted into the Meriden Hall of Fame. His many other honors include Songwriter of the Year awards by Billboard, ASCAP and the Nashville Songwriters Association, and induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Gary’s hit songs include “Nobody Wants to Be Lonely” (Ricky Martin & Christina Aguilera),”To Be Loved by You” (Wynonna Judd), “In a Week or Two” (Diamond Rio), “Before Your Love” (Kelly Clarkson), among many others. He was lead vocalist for country-rock group Pure Prairie League and guitarist/vocalist for Ringo Starr in his band The Roundheads. Gary is now a member of the group Blue Sky Riders with Georgia Middleman and Kenny Loggins. Says singer-songwriter Carole King, “Words that come to mind when I think of Gary Burr: Incredibly talented. Beautiful voice. Gifted guitarist. Quintessential songwriter. Insufferable ham.”

Georgia Middleman is an accomplished vocalist and recording artist, as well as an immensely talented songwriter who commuted between New York and Nashville before making her home in Music City. She co-wrote the 2010 hit “I’m In”, recorded by Keith Urban, and the recent Kenny Chesney song, “While He Still Knows Who I Am.” Her songs have been recorded by Reba McEntire, Joe Nichols, Martina McBride and many others. Her song “When the Right One Comes Along” was recently featured on the ABC hit TV show “Nashville.” Georgia is one-third of the acclaimed new trio, Blue Sky Riders, with Kenny Loggins and Gary Burr. Says Music Row, “A dazzlingly gifted songwriter, Georgia Middleman….”

Now working on their first duo album, Gary and Georgia are excited to share their songs and stories in Norfolk. To celebrate their homecoming show and hometown fans, the pair has gone into studio to record a song that will be made available as an exclusive download to those attending the Infinity Hall show!
